What is Smart and Skilled?
NSW Smart and Skilled offers subsidized training to eligible students in New South Wales, covering courses up to and including Certificate III. Additionally, government funding is available for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in specific priority areas. The primary objective of NSW Smart and Skilled is to facilitate entry into the workforce by enhancing language, literacy, and numeracy skills, along with providing job-specific training. Certificates I, II, and III are considered essential for job readiness.
Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria for NSW Smart and Skilled can enroll in a subsidized course up to Certificate III, regardless of their existing qualifications. This means that even if you already hold an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality, you can still seek funding for a Certificate III in Business Administration or Civil Construction.
While the program primarily focuses on entry-level qualifications, subsidized training is also available for some Certificate IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma courses in targeted areas. To qualify for NSW Smart and Skilled funding, you must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen, aged 15 or above, no longer attending school, and residing or working in NSW. Seize the opportunity to enhance your skills and advance your career with NSW Smart and Skilled.
Smart and Skilled, a program initiated by the New South Wales Government, aims to support individuals in acquiring qualifications in sought-after skills and industries. Positioned as a crucial component of the vocational education and training system in NSW, Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with the following benefits:
1. A right to government-subsidized training, encompassing qualifications up to and including Certificate III.
2. Government funding for advanced courses at Certificate IV level and beyond, specifically in targeted priority areas.
